Don't Ask Claude or ChatGPT to Make Your Slides Yet

First, turn what it already knows about you into an editorial brief.

Someone asked me how they could automate their slides.

The easy answer is: “Ask ChatGPT or Claude to make them for you”.

But there is a better way.

Before your favorite AI can make your slides, it needs to understand what makes them yours: who they are for, how you explain things, what you usually emphasize, and also what you would never put in a presentation.

Problem is, if you have been using the Chat interface, although it knows a lot about you, memory is scattered across conversations.

So the first step is to ask ChatGPT to extract everything it knows that could guide the presentation and save it into an editorial file:

• Who is the audience?

• What should they understand or do afterward?

• What tone should the slides use?

• What makes something sound like me?

• What should the presentation avoid?

Then review, notice what’s wrong, outdated or missing, and correct it.

The goal is to turn hidden context into a memory layer you can inspect, reuse and improve over time.

Sounds boring, I know.
